Mixed Media Collage

Instructor Kat Block

Dates : April 10, 2025 - June 5 2025

( No Class April 17)

Thursday 9:30am - 12:30pm

In this course, we will be creating mixed media collages. Let me be clear. The goal is not to come out with an exact representation of reality. Rather, we will be inspired by reality to realize our unique response to it. This is actually more complicated since it requires a lot of thought.

We will be structured around fundamental design principles and composition. In a sense you will be twisting reality to express your personal vision. It is intellectually challenging since it involves problem solving and decision making. In the end you will be making your materials submit to your will.

My role is to give you confidence and help you  achieve your best possible result from your efforts.

I will recommend certain basic supplies, however, it would be a good idea for you to contact me before the course begins so that you don’t invest in a bunch of unnecessary materials. I can obtain supplies for a materials fee if you prefer.

This process is challenging for certain, but also extremely rewarding.
